Problem is, you don't even have to kill most of it. A good portion of what's burning is already dead beetle kill, so it's basically very dry tinder which is one of the reason the fires are so hard to control.
Yeah, I think close to 35,000 have been evacuated from the Colorado Springs fire alone. I live outside of Denver, so none of the fires are near me thankfully (we are getting a lot of smoke down here though). I have some friends near the springs fire though, but they came to stay up in Denver with their parents until things blow over.
I'm good, since I live down in Denver and not in the mountains. A couple good friends of mine have an apartment about sevenish miles from the Colorado Springs fire though. Thankfully they haven't completely moved in yet, and are still living near Denver with their parents.
